Chimaev Seeks Permission to Aid Palestine

Khamzat Chimaev, a UFC fighter hailing from Chechnya, made a heartfelt request to Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of the Russian republic, during a post-fight interview at UFC 294. Chimaev sought Kadyrov’s permission and blessing to participate in the conflict in Palestine.

In an emotional address following his victory over former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, 29-year-old Chimaev expressed his concerns about the various conflicts occurring worldwide. He shared his distress at the suffering of children in these conflicts.

Chimaev’s Appeal to Aid Palestine

Chimaev, also known as Borz, who had immigrated to Sweden in 2013 and currently represents the UAE, expressed his gratitude to Chechnya and switched to his native language to speak directly to Kadyrov. He stated, “With your support, it’s not a problem for me to fight in the octagon, and if you grant me permission, I promise to be the first to go there. I’m asking you to provide me with a weapon and allow me to fight for Palestine,” as reported by the Russian news outlet RBK.

Kadyrov responded by congratulating Chimaev on Telegram and commended the fighter for his strong condemnation of violence against the residents of Gaza. He wrote, “Khamzat has demonstrated the deep empathy of a true Muslim for the Palestinian people.”
